Application for upper secondary education for minority language applicants

Applicants who wish to send an application after the 1st of February, must contact oppfølgingstenesta in order to get help with their application.

Minority language pupils have the same rights as Norwegian pupils. Certain rules for admission apply:

  1. You must provide documentation for completion of the Norwegian 10-year primary and lower secondary education, or of an equivalent education completed abroad (at least 9 years). If you do not have such documentation, the municipality must assess your prior education and decide if you fulfil this requirement (realkompetansevurdering).
  2. You must have a valid Norwegian residence permit, have applied for one, or you can document that you have appealed a rejection. Pupils that start in upper secondary education do not have the right to fulfil the school year if their residence application is rejected.
